Lucerne chocolate at a glance
Lucerne chocolate comes in three forms. Guided tasting walks lead through the old town and stop at confiseries. A hands-on workshop lets a small group make its own bars. And the Swiss Chocolate Adventure, a themed ride inside the transport museum, is part of the museum day pass. The walks are the easiest to book for a single afternoon, and some of them add alpine cheese and a glass of wine.
Most walks start near the lake and the Reuss, so they combine well with the old town walking tours and the Chapel Bridge. Read the details of each offer carefully, because tastings, boat rides and drinks often depend on the option you choose.

Our picks: chocolate and cheese tastings
The walk with five chocolates, Alpine cheese and a castle visit is the fullest tasting programme. The walk with chocolate in three shops focuses on sweets, and the walk with optional cheese and wine suits you if you want a shorter outing.
Hand-picked tours, booked through GetYourGuide. Prices are indicative starting prices in Swiss francs (as of October 2026). Tap a tour for live availability and the current price in your currency.

Chocolate tasting walks in the old town
Three guided tours, and what each one includes.
Chocolate, cheese and wine walk
A guide leads you past the Chapel Bridge and the Water Tower, and you taste 5 chocolates, 3 alpine cheeses and 1 glass of wine or a non-alcoholic alternative. A castle visit and a lift ticket are part of the programme. The tour does not take you inside the Water Tower. A boat trip is only included with one of the options.
Old town tour with chocolate samples
This guided walk through the old town includes chocolate samples in three confiseries. It passes the Chapel Bridge and the Jesuit Church, so it doubles as a short sightseeing tour for a first visit.
Local guide, walk with food stops
A local guide leads a walking tour of the old town. A one hour boat ride and the cheese and wine tasting are only included with the matching option, so check which option you select at booking.
A Lucerne food tour or a Lucerne wine tasting is usually built the same way: a walk of one to two hours, a handful of stops and small portions. Plan the walk for the time when you are hungry, not right after lunch.
Chocolate workshops in Lucerne
One workshop format for groups, priced per group.
The chocolate bar workshop in a Lucerne studio takes 60 minutes and is open to groups of up to 15 people, in German, English or Spanish. The base price covers 1 to 4 guests: CHF 480 from 1 September to 30 April and CHF 600 from 1 May to 31 August. Each additional person costs CHF 120 or CHF 150 in the same periods. Saturdays carry a surcharge of CHF 500 and Sundays and public feast days one of CHF 1,000.
This is a private-style booking, not a ticket for a single seat, and availability changes. Ask for dates before you build a day around it. Prices are the list prices at the time of writing in November 2026.
Swiss Chocolate Adventure in the transport museum
The Swiss Chocolate Adventure is a themed ride inside the museum. It is included in the day pass of the Swiss Museum of Transport, which costs CHF 62 for adults and also covers the planetarium day shows and the day films. In the winter season the ride runs from 11 to 16.20. It is a ride and not a craft course, so no chocolate is made by guests there.
For prices and opening hours of the museum itself, see our Lucerne museum guide.
Maison Cailler is not in Lucerne
The well known Maison Cailler is in Broc, not in Lucerne. It is a separate day trip, not a Lucerne offer, and it is not part of the tours on this page.

Where can I taste chocolate in Lucerne?
On a guided tasting walk through the old town, where the stops are confiseries, or in the workshop format for small groups.
Does a chocolate walk include cheese and wine?
